A tenor singer residing in Jakarta. In 2009 he decided to be focused on his music career more professionally by studying vocal art performance at Utrecht Conservatory (Hogeschoolvoor de Kunsten Utrecht) in the Netherlands. He completed his music education until Master degree under the guidance of maestro Henny Diemer. Before studying in the Netherlands, his vocal talent has been earlier developed under the guidance of N.Simanungkalit, Pranadjaja, Anette Frambach and Avip Priatna.
Graduated from ITB Architecture Department in 2002, Farman has been frequently appointed as the soloist together with Batavia Madrigal Singers and Jakarta Concert Orchestra conducted by maestro Avip Priatna since 1999 in various repertoires. Among so many concerts and performances in Indonesia, he played several operas such as Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni ( 2005 ); Samson et Dalila by Camille Saint-Saens as Samson ( 2006) and in April 2016 he played Don Jose, the main character in Carmen by Georges Bizet.
He also played in operas abroad, among others in 2012 in Il Ritornod’Ulisse in Patria by Monteverdi, where he acted as iro and Giove, produced by Opera Studio Nederland in Amsterdam and in 2014 in Cosi fan Tutte by Mozart , acted as Ferrando produced by Dutch National Opera Academy in Den Haag. One of the most difficult in the opera world as a tenor singer is acting as Admeto in Alceste by Christoph W.Gluck, in April 2015, where Farman has played the character successfully in Utrecht.
In 2006 he got the opportunity to become the soloist in Misa Coronation ( Mozart ) in Singapore and in Macau International Music Festival in Macau, with Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa from Japan. In 2007 he sang the solo part of Misa Carl Maria Von Weber in Kanazawa, Japan, which was recorded and published by Warner Classic Japan.
His love in music isn’t limited only in classical, but also in non classical music. His journey in pop music has brought him to collaborate with famous musicians in pop music industry in Indonesia such as Elfa Secioria, Andi Rianto and Addie MS. He is one of the singers in the Interlude dari Hati album ( with Magenta Orchestra ) and the main singer in Karena Cita Kita Kita Ada : ATribute to Erros Djarot album. He also performed in a collaboration singing alternative musical numbers of Emerson Lake & Palmer group (ELP) in Komunitas Salihara in February 2016.
Not only in vocal singing, Farman also dedicates his love in music composition. He created several arrangements and songs for choir. In June 2017 he launched a mini solo album entitled FARMAN where he sang his own compositions in a crossover genres.
Stage art and non classical musical drama which he did in the early 2013, was playing the role of Sangkuriang in Sangkuriang musical, with music compositioins by Dian HP and libretto by Utuy Tatang Sontani.
